Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

AA Open Topic meetings are  year round, Every Sunday, 5:30 PM; Game Building

AA Closed Step meetings, Every  Monday, 5:30 PM; Game Building                       

AA states that its primary purpose is to help alcoholics "to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety using AA's Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development."

 


American Legion – Auxiliary 102

The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization with a mission to serve veterans, the military, and their families.




American Legion - Post 102

The Motto of the American Legion is “For God and Country.” Eligibility is limited to those honorably discharged veterans and current personnel of the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Air Force who served at least one day of active duty during specified war periods. The Post is the basic unit of the American Legion and represents a small geographic area such as Tucson Estates. The Post is used for formal business such as meetings and a coordination point for community service projects.

 


American Red Cross

Watch for Announcements                        

The American Red Cross is the largest supplier of blood and blood products to more than 3,000 hospitals nationally and also assists victims of international disasters and conflicts at locations worldwide. Tucson Estates hosts a local blood drive several times a year to assist with this mission.

A certified Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) representative attends these meetings to address the concerns and emotions of those who find themselves in a care giving role. It is comforting to know you are not alone.

 

 

HEARTLINE

November thru April, Monday –Friday, 9:00 AM – Noon

May thru October, Mondays only 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

HEARTLINE is an independent, non-profit organization staffed by volunteers and supported by donations. HEARTLINE provides wheelchairs, medical equipment, baby equipment, rollaway beds, 6’ tables and much, much more on a short-term basis to residents of Tucson Estates, the Foothills, Western Way RV Park, and Sierra Villas. Use the On-Call number posted in the HEARTLINE building if you need assistance outside of the normal hours.

 
 

PET OWNERS

Pet owners are informed about local pet issues, walking areas and responsibility of pet ownership in our community. This service provides a forum for pet owners to discuss pets and related topics.

 

 

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS)

Every Tuesday. Weigh-in 6:00 AM, Meeting 8:00 AM; MPH

The TOPS support group provides positive encouragement, helpful tips, and motivational techniques for those who are trying to lose or maintain their weight.

 

Tucson Estates Neighbors Helping Neighbors (TENHN)

October - March; 3rd Thursday of the month, 2:00 PM; MPH-C                        

TENHN’s Mission is “to allow folks to remain in their homes independently, safely, and with dignity … just a little longer.” Volunteers provide services such as driving, food/meal delivery, friendly visits, phone calls, social events, housekeeping, home repairs, etc.

 

Visually Impaired Persons (VIPS)

November – March; 2nd Monday of the month, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM; Suite 1          

The VIP support group offers assistance, handy tips, and new ideas to visually impaired persons.
