Public Relations Activities and Events

The TEPOA Public Relations Committee provides the ideas and the manpower for many of the events held within Tucson Estates. The residents are blessed to have such an active, enthusiastic group of volunteers. Listed below are some of the regularly scheduled events sponsored by the PR committee. For your convenience, all PR Events are listed on the Calendar.

Tickets for PR events are sold by the PR Committee only in the Ticket Office located in the TEPOA Office just left of the front doors. The TEPOA Office staff do not sell or provide tickets for scheduled PR events.

The PR Committee does an excellent job identifying, scheduling, and hosting quality entertainment for residents to enjoy during the busy winter season. With approximately 7 - 8 concerts to choose from, you are bound to find something you enjoy.

Tickets purchased in advance are only $5.00 - $6.00 for residents and $7.00 - $8.00 for guests. There is a $2.00 surcharge for tickets purchased at the door.

Free Movies      (Click here for the Movie Description)

Join your hosts Cindy and Michel Johnston on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month year round from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the MPH to enjoy watching a recent release FREE movie. Bring your soda and popcorn and spend a couple of hours with a comedy, drama, western, or occasionally a thriller. We average 30-50 attendees per movie and there is always room for more.

Spring Picnic

The wonderful spring weather provides a great opportunity for all to enjoy a picnic in the Circle Park. The PR Committee recruits the Board Members to put on their serving hats to dish up the hot dogs, chips, sodas, and cookies for nearly 800 residents who attend each spring. It's a great time to visit with friends and neighbors before the summer heat sets in. And there is always musical entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Summer Potlucks

What a better way to escape the summer heat than to come together with friends and neighbors for a delicious potluck. Participants are encouraged to bring a recipe card so others can learn how to make the dish too.

Ice Cream Parties and Socials

Who doesn't like ice cream? The Tucson Estates Ice Cream Socials draw some of the largest crowds. Why not? With multiple flavors to choose from and your favorite toppings including nuts, whipped cream, and cherries, there is absolutely no reason to stay home.

Festival of Trees

We can thank the PR Committee for coordinating the wonderful decorations throughout the MPH and Rec Hall during the holiday season. From Thanksgiving until New Year's, these rooms are adorned with beautifully decorated themed Christmas trees sponsored by various Clubs within Tucson Estates. It is a sight to behold. Then, to get everyone into the holiday spirit, the PR Committee sponsors a FREE luncheon in December complete with donated homemade cookies for all to enjoy.

Talent Show

Can you Sing or Dance or Play a musical instrument or perform any other entertaining act? If so, the PR Committee wants you to consider entering your "act" into the Variety Show scheduled for March 2016. Bob Venekamp and Nancy Smith are co-directors with lots of support from the PR Committee. Don't forget to mark your calendar and plan to attend. It is always a GREAT show!

Community-wide Yard Sale

After the first Tucson Estates community-wide yard sale was a smashing success, the PR Committee decided this should become an annual community event. As the saying goes, "One man's junk is another man's treasure." So save up the things you no longer need and plan to participate in this event.  To signup as a seller please go to the counter at the ticket office and add your information to the list found on a clipboard. Last day to signup is March 8th.  Listings and Maps will be available for "treasure hunters".
